RevOps

What is RevOps? A speedy explanation

1 min read

RevOps helps companies improve profitability by integrating and aligning the processes, people, and technology involved in revenue generation.

It brings your customer-facing teams (sales, marketing and customer experience) together as one powerful revenue-driving unit.  At its core is reliable data, enabling this super team to make informed decisions that lead to business growth.

Is RevOps just another fad?

Nope, Gartner describes RevOps as the modern operating model for fast-forward organisations. Put simply, it’s a method of better aligning your organisation to achieve predictable, regular revenue. It’s forward-thinking because it means getting rid of old ways of working, such as keeping marketing and sales separate or working off different systems.

How does RevOps help a company scale?

The primary goal of RevOps is to drive growth by improving the efficiency, effectiveness and scalability of marketing, sales and customer experience.

Hiring more people is an expensive way to grow and it can’t be sustained long-term. For example, the cost of hiring and training new recruits could stop you investing in your business. If you want to scale and grow, you need to rethink the way you go to market.

That means looking at how you can tweak your processes to boost your profit margin without adding expensive headcount

What technology do you need to implement a RevOps model?

To successfully implement RevOps, you need a reliable system to collect the data you need to make informed decisions. Typically, this is a powerful CRM platform, such as HubSpot.

Whichever system you choose, you’ll need it to support you in providing customers with a seamless experience from first point of contact to closed deal and beyond. The point of RevOps is to ensure that customers are delighted across their whole lifecycles – and that you’re making the most of your existing database, rather than always going after expensive new business. It’s all about efficiency.
